Description - A wonderful Vintage Sterling Silver Bangle, which was assayed in Chester in 1959.
Makers mark is Joseph Smith & Sons of Birmingham. Pieces that were assayed in Chester have become highly desirable due to the assay office closing there in 1962.
It comes with its original jewellery retailer box, made from stiffened card & has a red velvet style insert.
The bangle is oval in shape, it has an internal diameter of 62mm being oval in shape allows for ease in getting in on & off & sits very comfortably on the arm.
The width of the bangle is 15.65mm so a lovely width on the wrist.
The face of the bangle has been beautifully etched & engraved in a swirl scroll type design .
The verso is plain smooth silver. It has a push in clasp which is strong & for added security the original safety chain is still in place.
There is a very tiny dint near the clasp & some minor wear marks to the back.
The hallmarks are on the inside of the bangle they are crisp & overall it is in very good vintage condition.
The box shows a little wear but is in good condition considering its 66 years.
Its a lovely bangle, & just that little bit more special having its original case.
