Description - A wonderful late Victorian silver Albertina ,originally designed as a lady's watch chain and now beautifully wearable as an antique bracelet.
" Albertinas " were the feminine counterpart to the gentleman's Albert watch chain & beam fashionable during the Victorian era, often incorporating multiple fine chains, decorative fittings, T-bars and ornamental tassels.
This particularly attractive example features three rows of silver belcher link chain joined by beautifully decorated silver terminals and centred with a charming heart - shaped link embellished with scrolling foliate details.
Completing the piece is its wonderful Victorian T-bar fitting & multi-strand silver tassels & dog clip all characteristic elements traditional Albertina watch chains..
The T-bar retains very worn English hallmarks while the piece is also marked for silver.
Today it makes a fabulous & highly individual bracelet , sitting beautifully on the wrist while retaining all the charm and workmanship of its original Victorian watch - chain heritage.
