Description - A very rare & superb Antique Ladies Powder Compact, in what my Gemologist has described as being in Excellent Condition.

Assayed in Chester in 1911, Maker's mark for William Neal & Son, this piece is truly a wonderful antique treasure.

Chester assay office closed in the 1960's so pieces assayed there have become highly sought after.

Crafted in 9ct solid yellow gold, the diameter is 53mm & is in a plain domed form.

The lid is internally set with a mirror, which can be removed & it also has what we believe to be the original powder puff. The compact also has a top ring & a jump ring.

This beautiful compact could easily be added to solid gold heavier style chain & be worn as an outstanding larger style pendant, definitely a show piece & wonderful talking point.

The compact is in fabulous condition, the crisp assay marks & makers mark are inside the base, the little puff covering them.

The valuation on this treasure is representative of what you could expect to pay, if you can find another in a bricks & mortar antique Jewellery situation, & to be honest I think it would be a struggle to find one especially in this condition.

I can only suggest this originally was owned by a lady of means as it would have been a very expensive piece to have purchased during the Edwardian period.
