Description - An Exceptional & beautifully engineered mid-century German " Kamra" Compact crafted in brass with deep cobalt blue marbled enamel panels & fitted interior appointments.
Designed in the shape of a compact camera.
These ingenious vanity pieces were produced in post-war Germany and designed as an elegant Muti-function ladies accessory . They were exported to the US & to the UK, part of the post war fascination with clever engineering - glamorous , mechanical and multifunctional.
The rich blue enamel contrasts magnificently with the warm gilt brass creating a striking & sophisticated presentation.
The interior retains its geometric engine turned finish a hallmark of quality mid-century craftsmanship.
The original Mirror, Lipstick cylinder, powder compartment with unused sifter & manicure set in their original fitted panel, they are all in unused condition.
At one end where you open the back of the camera for the manicure set, there is a small spot of missing enamel.
The rest of the enamel work is in fabulous original condition.
The musical movement is in working order & plays beautifully.
This is a beautiful example of post war European ingenuity & vanity design.
A rare & glamorous collector's piece presented in Unused condition equally suited to display or careful use.
