Description - An Early Silver Filigree & Carved Shell Cameo Bracelet - Circa / 1900 -1930

This is such a beautiful early 20th Century silver filigree bracelet featuring four individually carved shell cameos, each depicting a classical profile in creamy white relief against a warm natural shell background.

This bracelet is wonderfully ornate, constructed from intricate silver wirework, with tightly coiled scrolls, delicate rope detailing and tiny applied bead accents.

Each cameo is individually bezel set within an elaborate oval filigree surround, alternating with decorative open work links.

The four individual carvings include classical & helmeted profiles, giving the bracelet wonderful character.

Believed to be Italian in origin and dating to approximately 1900 - 1930 the bracelet bears a worn & unfortunately no longer decipherable mark to the clasp but tests as 800 silver .

The silver has been carefully polished recently, bringing the extraordinary filigree workmanship back to life.

A particularly lovely example of traditional European cameo jewellery and a very wearable antique piece.
