Description - Art Deco Sterling silver Lorgnette glasses, featuring marcasite decoration & a bakelite handle.

These are just so elegant & very much of their time, not only used as an optical aid, they were a fashion accessory with society ladies.

They are marked under the bridge 925 for silver & tests as such, the lenses are clean, not chips, scratches etc, completely usable, & the spring works perfectly.

The handle has a pretty marcasite design& is also made of bakelite a very early plastic that was invented & often used in jewellery making, lorgnettes, radios, teapot handles it had a myriad of uses..

Lorgnettes are often worn today as a lovely oversized pendant, they look excellent suspended from a chain.

Theses can certainly be used for their intended purpose making then a very practical & gorgeous pendant.
