Description - A beautiful Antique Handmade 9ct Rose Gold Bangle, Featuring A Shell Cameo Depicting  "Selene The Goddess Of The Moon " Greek Mythology She was worshipped at the New & Full Moons.

" Selene" was commonly depicted with a crescent moon often with stars, or the crescent  moon would protrude horn like from her head or rest on her brows or from behind her head and shoulders. In this carving the crescent moon protrudes from her head.

It is a hinged bangle handmade in  9ct rose gold, with an internal measurement of 54mm x 59mm oval in shape.

The lower section is hollow construction with a 4.5mm wide & 2.5mm thick oval profile and has one small internal dent & a small external dent.

The face of the bangle has a claw set centre with. split curled shoulders and is set with a 26mm x 20mm oval shell cameo with a cream classical style goddess head and shoulders over an orange brown background.

Some of the " Selene's " carved hair also has some orange brown.

There isn't any cracks or chips to this beautiful cameo.

The bangle has a push in clasp & safety chain for added security.

A Lovely antique shell cameo bangle, a wonderful wearable  addition to a collection or maybe to start one with.
