Description - A wonderful pair of antique 18ct yellow gold earrings, we believe to be Circa 1900.
The earrings have been XRF tested to confirm the 18ct gold purity.
Crafted from solid 18ct yellow gold, the centre of each earring are set with a round cut green paste gemstone, it's a type of glass that was used in quite a bit of antique jewellery.
Surrounding the green paste gem are five flat top round cut natural rubies pinky purple shade, a couple of the rubies have some minor wear, seen with a jewellers loupe, doesn't effect the look of the earrings.
On the outer edges of the earrings are five freshwater pearls, white in colour with good later button shape with some very minor blemishes. The pearls are approx 4.0mm in diameter.
The earrings are 17.48mm wide & weigh combined 5.95 grams, so they are quite substantial on the ear lobes.
These are a lovely pair of antique earrings, gorgeous flat cut rubies that look beautiful against the lustrous pearls & emerald green paste gemstones, further complimented by the rich buttery 18ct yellow gold.
These pretty earrings, are suitable for day or evening wear.
